Cross your fingers and pray!

That was the theme of our weekend... cross your fingers and pray for NO RAIN! We celebrated Brett's 4th birthday about a week early with all of his school friends. After a date change (because I waited too long to reserve the shelter) and one u-g-l-y weather forecast, we still pushed ahead. It paid off beautifully! At 6am the weather people were still saying 60% chance of rain, which completely bummed me out. Granted, I did have activities planned for the kids to do under the shelter, but I really wanted them to be able to enjoy this awesome park. Turns out, the skies cleared up early afternoon and the weather was absolutely perfect! The kids had a blast! The rain did come, but not until about 30 minutes after the party ended. All that stress for nothing!!

Brett absolutely loved being at his favorite park with so many of his friends from school - they ran and they ran HARD! They were one big ol' hot mess - a very sandy, sweaty, hot mess. It was almost impossible to keep up with Brett the way he was running through all of the tunnels in the castle. Most of these pictures were more like "Where's Waldo?" Where is that sweet boy in his airplane shirt?!

Of course we had all of the family there too!

A few decorations...

Brett points out this balloon EVERY single time we're at Harris Teeter... let me tell you how excited he was to see this balloon at his party!

If you ask Brett what his absolute favorite part of the entire party was, he says that it was when everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to him. He was grinning ear to ear the entire time. I love this boy!

A few family pictures at home after the party:
