turkey day

A little late, but better than never :) We had a seriously great Thanksgiving this year at my Aunt & Uncle's house in Raleigh. Lots of family, a few friends, and BEAUTIFUL weather! We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day! I'm sure that I could type out something detailing the day, but I think it will be better told in pictures.
The Fearless Foursome - 3 boys and a Kate

They had that driveway covered in chalk in minutes!  Quite impressive!

Kate and Uncle Jeff - the littlest to the biggest

"Twirl me, Poppy!"

They look like they're plotting an attack

Maybe they were discussing the engineering of their chalk roads

Setting the kids' table, but not SITTING at the kids' table :)

Cute Turkey!  Gobble Gobble!

Funny Nolan had this headband around his belly at one point and it looked like cow utters - cracked.me.up!

Sweet Hayden :)

Proof that 5 year old boys are not always wild and crazy

This group of boys, however, looks like they are up to no good!

Ha!  Hot mess!

Kate and "her" Aunt Dithy

Goof Ball

This just makes me laugh

Pinata time!  What?  Your family doesn't have a Thanksgiving Day Pinata?!

It's highly entertaining - you should add it to your next Thanksgiving feast!

Cousins!

Note to self - the kids have a hard enough time when they can see what they're aiming for - this just made it comical.

Kate was NOT a fan of being the center of attention.

Um, yeah, someone has some baseball experience!  Can you tell?!

Serious work.  Must collect more candy.

They actually got tired of picking it up and stopped.  We had to fill their bags just to get candy out of the yard.

Aunt Noel, the Cook

And Uncle Tim too!

Christian.  Being goofy on Thanksgiving.  Some things never change :)

Kate had to try them on too

The kids had Turkey masks

There seems like it should be a song.. 4 little turkeys sitting on the steps...

Barsh and Justin - so cute!

The winning Trivia team.  They had the human encyclopedia on their team!

Another Trivia team... more of a "for fun" type of team!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

While I was hard at work the day before Thanksgiving, Todd and the kids got to enjoy a fun day off with Grandma and Grandpa. They cooked a fun breakfast of German Pancakes, then headed to the mall to go see Santa!  I didn't really know what their plans were for the day.  Otherwise I would've actually "done" Kate's hair, but it is what it is, crazy hair and all!

Knock knock... anybody home?!

Yep - we're still here!  We've been busy living life, which is a good thing!  We just haven't taken any pictures along the way.  Stay tuned though - we'll be back soon :)

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Thankful

Today I'm thankful for our sweet 2 kids and their health.  Brett has definitely been under the weather this week and is finally starting to bounce back with the help of a strong antibiotic and some new allergy meds.  He actually woke up smiling today for the first time all week - yay!  If you know Brett you know that he is always smiling, so for him to be so upset made me realize that this was more than just a typical cold.  Luckily Kate has continued to be her feisty self... good and bad :)  Hopefully she stays healthy!

I hope you and your family are staying healthy going into this crazy holiday season!

I {heart} fall!

I love the fall.
I love weekends with not.a.single.thing.planned.
I love being in pajamas until three o'clock in the afternoon.
I love church with the fam. And brunch. And quick easy errands.
I love when one of the kids has a great idea.
Like a hike.
In the b-e-a-u-ti-ful weather!
GREAT idea sweet Kate :)

Even if we had to let Brett and Dad play Kinect first :)
