First Day!

Nothing says first day of school like pictures on the front porch :)  Here are Brett & Kate on the first day of 2nd and 1st grade, respectively.  Kate has Brett's old teachers, which is pure luck because there are three classes for each grade level.  Brett has the "strict" teacher, and a class FULL of boys (18 out of 24), but he loves it!  The best part of these pictures is that I had at least 10 people ask me if we're supposed to wear PE uniforms on the first day if it's their PE day and I sad, yes, definitely.  Guess what?!  Kate had PE that day and totally wore her dress uniform.  Whoops!

 

 

 

 

Last day of summer

The last day of summer fell on a Tuesday and I was off to spend it with the kids! After a full summer of camps and working too much, we needed to have one last blast of fun.  We loaded up and headed to our favorite park close by. It has a playground, sand box, hiking trails, and leads to the lake. What more can you want?!

OIB, take 2

A few weeks after our family trip to OIB, we went back for a quick end-of-summer last hoorah with our friends and their two boys.  We were staying WAY down at the east end of the island.  We usually stay at the west end, but this particular house had 4 bedrooms and was willing to rent for only 4 days.  When we were there in July, this end of the island was all but underwater, which really stressed me out.  Apparently we were there during the highest tides due to the full moon.  Thankfully, when we were there with the 4 kids in August, the weather was beautiful and we got to enjoy the huge beach, calm waves, and awesome pool in our back yard :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beach Bums
