Just like daddy...

This was the scene before dinner tonight:

Kids bathed - check.
Kids in PJs - check.
Mommy cooking - check.
Daddy entertaining and keeping kids out of kitchen - check.

Kate looking sweet and innocent - check.

Daddy and Brett lining up cars by color - check. (They needed help - color blindness and toddler indecisiveness prove to be difficult factors with this task.)

They'd better hurry before this happens!

Life lessons

It's always important to learn how to tie your shoes and how to shovel snow.

Christmas pics

I finally got around to sorting through the Christmas pictures and putting up some favorites in some sort of organized fashion. They're posted here! Enjoy!

Snow day!

Snow? Here? Really? 3 inches and still coming down fast as I'm typing this at 8:45 in the morning. Now, to all of you in Illinois and Wisconsin and all those other places who get a LOT of snow, I'm sure you're laughing at the excitement over 3 inches of snow, but you have to understand, this is more snow than we've seen in the last few years, combined. The last significant snowfall we got was back in January 2000 when we got a little over 20 inches. Considering just about everything (except IBM and Target) are closed today, you can just imagine what 20 inches would do to this place!

Anyway, onto what you really come here for - pictures of the kids! Brett did not want to go out, but LOVED it once he got out there! Kate wanted to go outside so badly, but was not really a fan of the snow once she had to stand in it for more than 30 seconds. Like mother, like daughter :)

Family picture - Daddy had to have the Marquette flag in the background!

Mommy's "helper"

I decided to make brownies from scratch today for our neighbor get-together this afternoon. The kids were playing nicely, so I figured I had a little bit of time to myself to get it done. Little did I know that I would soon have a little "helper" too! He likes his brownies the same way that I like mine - nice and raw :)

Baby, it's cold outside!

9 degrees, seriously?! 9 degrees.

It's the coldest we've been since January 2000 - almost a decade ago! Needless to say, we're not leaving the house today! Instead, we're trying desperately to find something fun to do, aside from watching Cars movie for the nine-zillionth time! So, why are the kids THIS excited?

Because we made this super-cool snowman today!! And nobody tried to eat a single button! Yay!

new house!

Check out our new house, courtesy of daddy's new grill :) We LOVE it, well, most of it... Brett is getting too tall and keeps hitting his head on the top.

Tiaras aren't just for princesses...

If you turn them upside down, they make a nice little car garage too!

Crazy weather

The funny thing about winter in the south is the weather - it is 70 one day and 35 the next. Yesterday afternoon, we had a thunderstorm come through. It was raining sideways, winds gusting over 30 mph, and the sky was orange from the sunset. Today, of course, is calm, sunny, and COLD! And by cold, I mean the southern version of cold - below 50 degrees.

Blog re-design???

So, I'm sitting here with a million and one things on my infamous "to do list" and I really don't want to do any of them. (Sound familiar?) So, I decided to load a few pictures from the Christmas chaos, and mess around with some ideas for the blog, when I sort of stumbled upon this:

Photobucket

She does FANTASTIC work and is running a "New Year's Giveaway" to three people. I'm hoping I win so that I don't waste so much time thinking about what I'd rather do to change up this blog :) You can enter your blog too - here's her site: www.designerblogsbyerin.blogspot.com. Enjoy!!
