lazy Sunday fun day

After naps on Sunday afternoon, we drove over to Lake Lynn to walk around and let the kids feed the ducks. There were some HUGE birds... not sure if they were ducks or not, but they definitely loved the bread. They kept attacking each other for the bread, which the kids thought was hilarious. They kept saying, "those silly ducks are so funny!"

We got home and were already sweaty and nasty from being out by the lake, so the kids took full advantage and played outside for awhile too. Kate finally overcame her fear of the ladder and slide - thank goodness! Now she just wants to go over and over and over again, each time saying, "just one more time, Mommy!" Brett thought it was fun to ride around on his bike while his little sister was out of the way!

It's offiical...

I'm going to be a soccer mom. I thought I had another year of non-soccer mom status, but TFS opened up their preschool program to 3 year olds this year! Todd and Brett are soooo super excited. I'm excited, but definitely not quite to their level! Kate is not excited, but mostly because she didn't get the pink ball that she was eyeing at Dick's Sporting Goods. Her time will come very, very soon!

I've lost my Marbles...

I don't know if it's parental guilt after being gone all week or what, but we decided to take the kids to Marbles Kids Museum downtown this morning. They had an absolute blast! Check it out...

Checking out the fire truck and fireman uniforms... Brett wasn't so sure yet!

Brett & Kate are ready to put out the fire

Brett's driving the speed boat

Moving on to the car...

Kate's not far behind...

Kate's peering out from the front of the ambulance... I see you!

Kate the ambulance driver

Brett had to stop playing to make a phone call

Brett the cashier

Ah, the train table... you need a good bribe to pull our kids away from a train table

Kate loves the train table too... so much that she was throwing elbows and knocking the big kids down

Kate and Daddy wave hello from the pirate ship

Kate and Brett in the hammock... it only lasted about 10 seconds

I think this was one of her favorite spots, despite the serious look

Brett loved the pirate ship!

But he loved building and racing his cars the most!

On your mark, get set, GO!

Kate liked to take the cars apart... go figure!

Kate moved on to the ginormous blocks...

Someone built this cool castle that she could walk in and play in

Peek-a-boo from the windows!

Onto the workshop... screwing nails in wood is fun

Kate's ready to get to work also

Watch out - Kate has a saw in hand!

Handyman Brett is in action

Very serious worker

Balance beams require some serious concentration too

Kate loved the special ball pit just for toddlers

She kept falling down and laughing hysterically

Holding onto Daddy for support

Brett loved the big kid ball pit once he figured out what it was

I just wanna bang on my drum all day...

Kate found a comfy spot to sit down and read

Brett was coloring a picture of a car... what else?!

Kate is very detailed when it comes to coloring... I see a future artist!
