On the way there this morning he tried to convince me to drop him off at the sidewalk and let him walk in. Thankfully, we're not allowed to do that on the first day :) We'll cross that bridge next week when we have to use the carpool line!
I'm so glad to see him eager and excited to be there and I can't wait to hear all about his first day!
| Brett with his preschool friend, Mark - We're so glad they're in the same class. They've been friends since they were 2 years old! |
Update - Brett had a GREAT first day! Todd picked him up in the carpool line and brought him home to my mom, who said that he was just as happy at the end of the day as he was at the beginning of the day. He said they wrote some different letters, had recess, ate snack, and read two stories - one about a gingerbread baby and one about the first day of school. Usually when I ask what he did at school, I get maybe one or two things, at best, but he's been talking about it non-stop! I'm so glad that he had such a fun day and I'm looking forward to a great school year :)
We'll see how he does next week when they start going full days!

So are you really as happy as you seem about him going off to kindergarten?! Or are you teary eyed behind the scenes? It makes me nervous to think about T starting kindergarten and we still have 2 years to go! Maybe I'll feel differently when he's 5 and it's actually time.
I really am excited! Part of me is a *little* sentimental, but honestly, they've been driving each other so crazy at home (and me crazy) all summer, that I'm ready for them to both be in school :)
How very exciting!! He looks so grown up!
Great pics! It's strange to see other people I know in your pictures (ex: Mark) b/c it reminds me how very small the world is! :)
